About Alok Bardiya

Alok Bardiya is Head – Internet of Things (Business Unit) at Tata Communications. Tata Communications IOT BU is building innovative IOT products and solutions for the enterprise market in India. Alok combines his business building and investing experiences in shaping and scaling this new venture.

Alok has over 20 years of experience in the tech industry across markets such as India, Asia Pacific and the US. He was an entrepreneur early in his career, co-founding a B2B e-commerce company in India which was later acquired by a publicly listed company.

Prior to Tata Communications, Alok led Cisco’s VC investments and M&A for India and Asia Pacific. He has also served on the Boards of early to growth stage startups including WSO2, Servion, Videonetics, Mobikwik and others. Alok continues to be active in the startup-VC ecosystem as a mentor to entrepreneurs and startups.

Alok has also worked with Bain & Co and with AT&T/BellSouth in the US and with the Tata Group in India as a part of their leadership program, Tata Administrative Services.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Delhi and has an MBA with Honors from Wharton Business School, USA.
