About Chandrajit Banerjee

He has been with the CII for more than three decades and the Director General since 2008. In this role, he is responsible for the overall operations of CII.

Prior to this, he has been responsible for key areas of work at CII including manufacturing, services, agriculture, and life sciences sectors. He has also led key policy work of CII in the areas of economy, financial services and corporate governance. He was the First Executive Director of the National Foundation of Corporate Governance - NFCG, an organisation set up by the Ministry of Company Affairs, Government of India. He continues to be in the Board of Trustees and Governing Council of NFCG as a Member.

Mr. Banerjee is a Director in the Singapore India Partnership Foundation and a Director at the Invest India. He has been honoured with the China-India Friendship Award by the Chinese Premier for his contributions towards the development of bilateral ties between India and China.
