Sumeet Walia is the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Tata Communications. In this role, he is responsible for driving the global growth of Tata Communications as a Digital Ecosystem Enabler – a digital fabric on which customers can build secure, connected, digital experiences. He leads business strategies to engage with global enterprises enabling their future business ambitions, today. Sumeet is instrumental in shaping the company’s data business, spearheading Tata Communications’ international expansion, and achieving a leadership position in India. With more than three decades of industry experience with the TATA Group, his skills and leadership have enabled Tata Communications to outperform the market and deliver competitive excellence. Sumeet serves on various boards of Indian and international subsidiaries of Tata Communications. He has chaired India’s CII-Tata Communications Centre for Digital Transformation (CII-CDT), since 2018. This partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) focuses on capacity building, public policy & research, and creating engagement platforms to scale up the digital experience of enterprises. He holds a Master of Marketing Management from JBIMS, Mumbai, and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University. Sumeet is a champion of #TechforGood and #TechforSocial. He is a strong advocate for the power of technology that uplifts economies and bridges the digital divide. He actively supports causes on women empowerment, youth mentoring, and development through technology.
