THE CHALLENGE:

Sharekhan wanted ways to defend its network/systems against DDoS attacks at Layers 3, 4 and 7. As part of BNP Paribas since 2016, the system would have to be compatible with the parent company’s security architecture, while meeting RBI and SEBI regulatory controls.

The company chose a managed hybrid on-premise/cloud DDoS protection system from Tata Communications, which helped it protect its customers’ online trading activities, while preserving the integrity of its entire cybersecurity architecture.

In a two-phase implementation, deployment and monitoring would be followed by full attack blocking mode. In the first phase, Sharekhan succeeded in dealing with many DDoS attack signatures in six months. The company can now offer strong cybersecurity assurances.
